My ancestors were Navajo and Blackfoot. I wasn’t raised on a reservation though. My grandmother was the type of person that believed that you only go to a hospital when you were ready to die. She used to have alot of”tonics” and home remedies. I’m more modern, I believe in modern medicine, and I still have faith that God heals and I believe in using some of the old home remedies that my grandmother showed me,lol

Native American’s turn to the uses of the Medicine Bag,
usually it would be the medicine man, or shaman, of a tribe who would carry one. As something that holds supernatural items, the medicine bag must also have some power of its own.
Hope that helped a little.
Well, there are dozens, probably hundreds of tribes and tribal traditions.
I have seen a variety of natives from different groups over the years. Most follow conventional medicine but also do some native rituals on the side.
uh….i donno. but i did read somewhere on national goegraphic that about 3/4 of all medicine used today was origanaly invented by the native americans. i mean they didnt make pills, but we use the same plants and stuff as them.
